I really am not one of those people.

July 22, 2008

I am not! I promise. I normally don’t celebrate and make a huge deal out of every little thing that the kids accomplish. Don’t misunderstand, I give them compliments and brag when they have done very well. This is one of those times that I am going to gush, scream, jump and shout for joy!!!

ZOE CAN COUNT
TO NINETEEN!

KAMMIE HAS LEARNED HER MULTIPLICATION TABLES!

Celebration pics will come later! :) I am so proud of the girls!!!!!

It Must Be Deluded

July 14, 2008

I am telling you the survey is erroneous! There is no way it is right. Don’t take my comments the wrong way, while I would love this to be accurate, it most certainly is not.

A whole lot of nada….

July 2, 2008

LOL! Yes, that is what I did today. Since I declared today a ‘nada’ day, the girls had to act up and misbehave. They refuse to stop learning…. IS THERE A SWITCH??? Seriously… is there? :)

*sigh* 11 more days until I am emotionally undone, so I thought to myself “The best way to unwind is to post nothingness on my blog.”. Here I am. It is 11:15 and I simply cannot sleep.

Some news on the homefront:

  • My first lapbook is getting geared up to be offered for FREE at Homeschool Share thanks to the wonderfully talented Ami! :) I am uber excited. Because it was my first lapbook, Ami had to make quite a few changes. LOL I feel so badly for her, but this was definitely a learning experience!
  • Justin and I are looking to purchase another vehicle. SHUSH! It will be E friendly! I told him it had to be. LOL Unfortunately, with all of my doctor’s appointments we cannot bike 30 miles….. :)
  • The girls are driving me batty. Kammie hurt her back yesterday and has been whiny about it all day… UGH.

OH! I must inform you of the most favorite information that I discovered today!!! We went to the library and they surprised us! Starting July 11th, the library will be open ON FRIDAYS!!!!! :) I need the blushing icon because the librarian was snickering when she told me about how Mayor Chip Thompson begged them to get me to stop inquiring about when the city would expand their budget! Finally! Something absolutely wonderful came out of me having a major gripe fest! (I was polite, but very to the point!) I am so excited!!! I know a few other local hs moms called, and I thank you for answering my plea to help! In a few months the library will extend their hours from 9 am to 8 pm!!!! I may live there… Is that awful? I want to live in a library. Though, if I had a choice of which library to occupy, I honestly don’t see Piedmont being at the top of the list. I am a high needs gal. I need stories upon stories of books!

I do love my local library. :) *sigh* The girls finished the reading program today. I didn’t even let them record all of the book they have read because I thought it would be unfair. I was told today that for each twenty books they read, they get another chance to win the drawing. :) So, the girls have decided Mommy needs to print out their spreadsheet of books read (Yes, I do keep one by date….sad, isn’t it?).

About the Latin in the previous post:

I posted my source in the comments, but if you use bloglines you cannot typically see comments. I am pasting it here just in case. LOL

Memoria Press

We bought the book set and the dvds. I have heard several people rave about it. I will be learning alongside the girls as I don’t have any Latin in my background. Wish us lots of luck!

Holiday…

Until The 26th…. :) Have fun, everyone!

The Great American GAS OUT!

May 13, 2008

Please join my family as we start a grass roots movement, The Great American GAS OUT! Are you tired of rising fuel prices? Are you tired of fuel price increases causing food prices to increase? Then join us! It seems that most Americans will only protest if they feel something free is being taken from them! Come on people, see the light!!!!!!! If we don’t stand up and make a group effort to change, nothing will happen. My girls and I plan to only use our bikes if our trip is inside city limits. :) We biked 1/2 mile on Monday, and then we biked 3.7 miles (round trip) today! If my chunky bootie can bike that far, what is stopping you???

Today, we received waves and people helping us travel safely! It was so nice! I feel like we are already making small changes… :) I love it! If we go to coops tomorrow, we will bike! If we can’t make it I still want to try to make it to the library!!! :) WooT!

My button isn’t ready today, but it will be by tomorrow hopefully. I am doing my due diligence because this graphic will be printed onto shirts for me and the girls! We are looking at selling some tees and putting all proceeds towards more environmental changes!

It seems like people today are too complacent. We need role models from the 60s and 70s. Let’s have sit ins and peaceful rallies! Do it in the name of your families! There are so many out there right now that are loosing everything they have because of gas! Let’s do what we can to stop this before it happens to us all!

Spread the word!

Almost missed it…

May 6, 2008

LMBO! 11:58…. Nothing big to say either… I am too tired I only got five hours of sleep last night. LMBO! And now I have a hurt foot.

My left foot will have arch support issues if I don’t wear sneakers round the clock….. I like to dress nicely sometimes…LOL! I was dressed nice yesterday, didn’t wear sneakers and now I have the pain. So badly, that a sheet can’t touch it… UGH

Alrighties off to bed!

Aching Heart For a Dear Friend…

April 28, 2008

*M*, I just want you to know you are on my mind. I know how much you love your beloved doggy. I hope you are able to make the right decision for yourself. If you need me, I am here.

Letting off steam. A bit controversial, maybe….

April 25, 2008

I am mad. Down right peeved. I am probably the most unracist person you will every meet. :) Our family is a melting pot and I love it!

BUT, with that being said *takes deep breath*, I am furious. This link really does it for me. A little bit ago, an African American judge kicked some Caucasian people out of his court room because he wanted to scare the defendant straight. I don’t know the exact situation, but I can tell you this: IF a CAUCASIAN judge threw AFRICAN AMERICAN people out of his court room Reverend Jesse Jackson would call for a public lynching! “How dare the white man keep us down!” I can hear him scream in my vision.

Do you know that Bill Cosby sees it as okay that the Caucasians were removed? His response: “Who cares [ if I kick them out]. I want to speak with my people. Can someone PLEASE tell me why it is okay for REVERSE racism to occur in this country?

Some examples:

1. The judge example for above.

2. The United Negro College Fund (I am sorry but if it was the Caucasian fund, we would be racist.)

3. NAACP- If we had a fund for the National Advancement of White People…. Do you think that would fly?
I will post more as I think of them , so far that is three examples. I do not apologize for this post. I am caucasian, yes. Like I said before, my family is a melting pot and I LOVE it! :) I think it is RIDICULOUS that ANY racism exists, but I have to say I am sooooooooooooooo tired of this ‘reverse racism’ phenomenon’. What is even more pathetic, no one even acknowledges it. I understand that the African Americans came over as slaves. So did the Chinese, and a few other races (The Chinese helped build the American railway.). I am 1/8th Native American. I have been witness to racism against Native Americans, even though it is their land that we occupy.

*DISCLAIMER- I don’t think that any of the above organizations or bad, just pointing out what would happen….*

For some reason, nothing draws controversy over racism like a Caucasian bashing an African American; not even vice versa.
Well, there you have it. My pissy post for the week. I do apologize for this post’s tone, but I have had it. I have met many nice people with skin that is different from mine (black, olive, etc) and they are tired too. One of the men that my husband works with (WHO is an African American) says he is tired of all the broo haha (I know that isn’t spelled correctly!) and believes there is so much of it nowadays because he no longer feels that they are the minority because of the ever increasing Latino population. Yet another nugget of wisdom, no?

A friend dearly missed.

April 8, 2008

I miss you baby. I am glad you are in a loving environment that can better care for you. Peace and love.

Blog issues! UGH!!!
